JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager for Gender Equality will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing projects focused on women’s rights and combating gender-based violence. This role includes close collaboration with public institutions, partner organizations, the community, and donors to advance gender equality issues in Kosovo.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Development and Implementation
- Design and implement strategies and plans to promote gender equality and prevent gender-based violence, in alignment with Artpolis’ mission and donor requirements.
- Research and analyze public policies affecting the rights of women and girls in Kosovo.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring regular reporting on outcomes and results.
- Ensure all project activities comply with gender equality and human rights standards.
Promoting Art for Social Change
- Initiate and curate artistic activities, such as theater performances and awareness campaigns, to challenge patriarchal norms and empower women.
- Support the activities of Artpolis’ members and collaborator network.
- Actively participate in awareness, advocacy campaigns, and public representation events, including meetings, conferences, and media presentations.
Partnership Management and Advocacy
- Coordinate and collaborate with partner organizations, donors, public institutions, and the community for effective project implementation.
- Develop and lead advocacy initiatives at local and national levels.
- Engage in policymaking processes to promote legal and structural changes in favor of women’s and girls’ rights.
Project Development and Fundraising
- Identify new funding opportunities and draft proposals for new projects addressing gender-based violence.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring transparency and efficient use of funds.
Education and Awareness
- Organize training and workshops to empower women and girls on their rights and protection mechanisms against violence.
- Develop educational materials and reports on gender-based violence and prevention strategies.
- Monitor and analyze global and local trends in gender-based violence, proposing proactive measures for Artpolis.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Create and implement clear mechanisms for measuring project impact.
- Prepare regular reports for donors and internal organizational needs.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO APPLY?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in coordinating projects related to gender equality, women’s rights, or gender-based violence.
- University degree in social sciences, cultural management, gender studies, law, or related fields.
- Strong skills in organization, time management, and communication.
- Advanced knowledge of Albanian and English (Serbian is an asset).
- Excellent use of MS Office and digital communication tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and women’s rights.
Proof of Experience as a Project Manager:
Applicants must submit one or more of the following documents to verify their experience:
- Employment contracts or confirmation of engagement from organizations where they have worked as project managers.
- Reference letters from former employers or project partners confirming experience and contributions in gender equality projects.
- Certificates from trainings or participation in programs related to project management, women’s rights, or activism.
- List of implemented projects, including roles and responsibilities in each.
- Reports submitted within past projects, showing effective budget, activity, and result management.
