On 6 March 2026, in Pristina, the first focus group with representatives of public and private universities was held as part of the project “Design, Develop and Introduce a 3-Year Vocational Curriculum for Light and Sound Technician Profiles in the Formal Education System.” The meeting was organized by Artpolis with the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The discussion brought together professors and experts from several public and private universities, who emphasized the urgent need to develop a modern vocational curriculum for lighting and sound professions. Participants highlighted that the program should have a strong practical component, ensuring that students gain hands-on skills and are well prepared for the demands of the labor market.

The discussion also underscored the importance of collaboration between universities, theaters, media outlets, and cultural institutions, as well as the need to establish structured internship opportunities for students enrolled in vocational secondary schools. Such partnerships were considered essential for bridging the gap between education and the creative industries.

This initiative is part of the Creative Industries project, financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by UNDP Kosovo, which aims to advance the skills and competencies of young women and men by designing, adapting, and introducing pilot courses within the formal education system that address skills gaps in the creative industries (CIs). Through partnerships between educational institutions and industry, the project also provides skilling and upskilling programmes, lifelong learning opportunities, as well as coaching and mentorship support.
