On 27 June, Art on the Train wrapped up its latest edition, once again transforming the railway journey from Prishtina to Peja into a moving cultural space where art, dialogue, and heritage came together.
Throughout the journey, passengers enjoyed a live performance by ARBËRESHË, whose music resonated alongside the passing landscapes, creating a unique atmosphere aboard the train. The programme also featured poetry readings by Elsa Belegu, Etnike Bogaj, and Albana Gashi, inviting audiences to reflect on memory, identity, and the human experience. Complementing the performances, photographer Drilona Hamiti presented a photography exhibition that turned the train carriage into a travelling gallery, offering a compelling encounter between visual art and movement.
Upon arrival in Peja, participants took part in a guided cultural walk led by Nora Draga, exploring the city’s rich history, architectural heritage, and the stories that continue to shape its cultural identity.
By moving beyond conventional artistic venues, Art on the Train fostered new connections between artists, audiences, and place. Blending music, poetry, photography, and cultural exploration, the initiative reimagined the train as a space for creativity, dialogue, and collective experience—where the journey itself became an integral part of the artistic programme.
The activity was organised as part of Artpolis’ project Heritage Horizons: A Journey Across Generations, implemented within the BOOST Balkans programme, funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement and coordinated by ALDA Balkans.
