On 9 and 10 August 2026, as part of the 16th edition of Etno Fest in Kukaj Village, the sales exhibition “Corner of Courage” was held, organized by Artpolis in cooperation with Etno Fest and QPDG.
The exhibition showcased the authentic work of women artisans from Drenas, who presented and sold handmade products, including necklaces, bags, filigree pieces, and other traditional crafts and practices passed down through generations.
“Corner of Courage” was warmly received by the Etno Fest audience. Visitors showed strong interest in the exhibited works and directly contributed to supporting the women artisans by purchasing their products. Beyond promoting cultural heritage, the exhibition created a concrete opportunity for the economic empowerment of women, while recognizing and valuing their work, creativity, and intergenerational knowledge.
The activity highlighted the importance of creating spaces where traditional crafts can be presented, valued, and connected with new economic opportunities. In this way, “Corner of Courage” contributed to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage as a living practice, while placing women artisans at the centre of this process and recognizing their role as important bearers of cultural knowledge and tradition.
This activity was organized within the framework of the “Heritage Horizons: A Journey Across Generations” project by Artpolis, in cooperation with Etno Fest and QPDG, as part of the BOOST Balkans programme, funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement and coordinated by ALDA Balkans.
