The Alternative Girls’ Center from Kruševac and the Artpolis- Art and Community Center from Prishtina, are announcing the call for the tenth generation of the Feminist Spring School 2024, with the support of the Swedish foundation Kvinna till Kvinna.

About the Feminist Spring School:

The Feminist Spring School has been contributing to peacebuilding and women’s participation in peace dialogue in the Western Balkans since 2014, by reducing cultural distances between young women and activists from Serbia and Kosovo, and by promoting feminist peace practices and policies. The school is designed to allow participants to engage in practical learning processes and explore feminist politics and peacebuilding processes – in the spirit of collaboration, friendship, and respect for all socio-political and individual differences.

 The Feminist School is intended for young women/activists from Kosovo and Serbia, aged 18 to 35, who are ready to participate in the entire program of the Feminist Spring School (in Kosovo and Serbia), and who are interested in.

🌸 Getting to know and creating new social connections with young women from Kosovo and Serbia;

🌸 Learning about feminism, women’s rights, peace and anti-war movements, and activism in the region, and participating in these movements;

🌸 Promoting human rights and engaging in initiatives that contribute to connecting, better understanding, collaboration, and communication between activists and students from Kosovo and Serbia;

The program and methodology include:

🌸 The school consists of two modules, the first part of which is conducted in Serbia and the second in Kosovo, with the involvement of lecturers and facilitators, namely long-time peace activists who transmit their knowledge and experiences in this way, as well as interactive work by participants during both modules:

🌸 FSS takes place in Albanian and Serbian languages, with translation;

🌸 Work in thematically determined groups on tasks, with the support of a mentor, between the two parts of the Feminist Spring School;

🌸 Opportunity for active participation in the work of the Alumni Network of the Feminist Spring School (FSS);

Topics to be addressed through the Feminist Spring School:

🌸 History of women’s organizing;

🌸 Feminist activism, feminist principles, and actions;

🌸 Feminist art as a tool for social change;

🌸 Anti-war resistance – feminist peace policies;

🌸 Mechanisms of transitional justice from a feminist perspective;

🌸 Gender equality;

🌸 Women’s contribution to peace and security building;

Participation in the Feminist Spring School program is completely free for participants and includes coverage of travel, accommodation, and lectures by the organizers.

The first part of the Feminist Spring School will be held from June 4 to June 7, 2024, in Serbia, while the second part will be held in the autumn months in Kosovo.

The deadline for applications is May 15, 2024, at midnight.
