“The Daughter”: Empowering Girls and Challenging Harassment
June 7, 2024
16-17.06.2024
The second transnational meeting for the “Unmasc! Promoting Gender Justice with Socially Engaged Theatre” project took place in a welcoming and public space at OPENS in Novi Sad, further strengthening the collaboration between the partners: Kulturhaus (Vienna), Artpolis (Prishtina), and the host, Kulturanova (Novi sad).
Held on June 16 and 17, the partner organizations presented their achievements thus far, discussed their plans, and outlined the next steps for the project’s implementation. Both the project managers and artists from the three organizations collaborated, exchanging artistic ideas on topics such as artistic research, designing theater workshops, co-creating the co-facilitated modules for the residencies, communication, evaluation, and learning from each other as per the agenda.
Additionally, the meeting included a capacity-building workshop where participants engaged in artistic creation. This involved sharing personal stories through various creative exercises, responding to thought-provoking questions, and constructing theater scenes around a fictional character in the “hot seat.” The workshop was led by Attila Antal, a member of Kulturanova and a distinguished theater and film director, composer, and theatrologist.
The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Pristina.
