On February 19, 2025, Artpolis established the Theater Club in Peja, an initiative developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Peja and “Bedri Pejani” Gymnasium. This club aims to create a safe and creative space for young people to explore performing arts, develop their artistic skills, and empower themselves through theater.

Participants in the Theater Club will engage in the training program “Theater-Based Education,” an innovative methodology that merges art and education to foster critical thinking and social dialogue. Under the mentorship of actors Fitore Broqi and Ismail Kasumi, the young performers will work on the concept of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, reimagining this timeless masterpiece through their own creative interpretation.

As a result of this process, the participants will present a Forum Theater performance to the public, challenging traditional theatrical boundaries and initiating meaningful discussions on the topics they choose to address. Forum Theater, as an interactive method, invites the audience to actively engage in the conversation, transforming theater into a powerful tool for awareness and social change.

Throughout this creative journey, young people will not only learn about dramaturgy and stage performance but will also develop essential life skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, self-confidence, and personal expression. Through improvisation and acting, they will refine their ability to express themselves with clarity and impact, while group work will highlight the importance of coordination and mutual support. By analyzing social issues and finding innovative ways to portray them on stage, they will strengthen their ability to reflect and contribute to societal change.

This club marks an important step in enriching the cultural scene in Peja, providing a new platform for young people to explore the transformative power of art.

This initiative is organized by Artpolis in collaboration with the Municipality of Peja and “Bedri Pejani” Gymnasium, with the support of Frieda and the Ministry of Culture.
