On November 23, 2025, the theatre production “Woyzeck” was presented with great success at the Albanian Theatre Festival “Moisiu,” transforming the Amphitheatre of the National Theatre of Kosovo into a space charged with dramatic tension and profound reflection.
Directed by Zana Hoxha and adapted by Jack Thorne, the performance immersed the audience in the haunting story of a soldier broken by poverty, systemic violence, and the erosion of human dignity. Actors Bujar Ahmeti, Vlora Dervishi, Edi Kastrati, Aurita Agushi, Arbies Komoni, Altina Kusari, and Eden Kastrati delivered powerful, tightly woven performances that turned Woyzeck’s descent into an unforgettable emotional journey.
Minimalist scenography, guiding lights, and an original score shaped a sharp and immersive atmosphere, where every detail deepened the narrative and amplified the intensity on stage.
Due to its sensitive content, the production was presented to audiences aged 16+, receiving high praise for its bold artistic approach and its gripping, uncompromising aesthetic.
“Woyzeck” is a co-production of the “Hadi Shehu” Theatre of Gjakova and Artpolis, supported by the Municipality of Gjakova and UNFPA in Kosovo.
