This year, as in 2020, due to the pandemic situation with Covid-19, organized by Art and Community Center – Artpolis, the 9th edition of the Youth Theatre Fest will be held online, not on the theater stage as was customary in past editions. The platform dedicated to the presentation of theater forum performances www.teatriri.com offers a safe space to watch and enjoy all the performances from the virtual audience.

The special of this edition, unlike last year where we had video dramas performed and recorded online, the 9th edition comes with real performance of students physically in front of the public and filmed to then be seen online.

Forum Theater Performances are the result of several weeks’ processes between the students of the 20 theater clubs of the champion schools of Kosovo, established by Artpolis in 2020, and the mentors of the clubs, who are also professional actors. The commitment and tireless work of the students and mentors, but also the help of the teachers and principals of these schools managed to successfully create theatre performances, addressing sensitive social topics, but also to develop a lively discussion with the audience that were present. The discussion between the characters and the audience has contributed to the free communication between the various categories that were present in the spaces where the performances were held, thus developing critical thinking.

Most forum theater performances have been presented to the audience in the respective schools, while a few others have had the good fortune to be presented to the public in real theatrical scenes, in cooperation with local institutions of the respective cities.

This project is organized by Artpolis – Center for Art and Community, with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government.

VOTING

As the festival has a competitive character, the selection of the winning performances will be done through jury and public voting. From 10.12.2021 – 12.12.2021, the jury and the public can vote for the performances.

The 9th edition of the Youth Theater Festival this year will award 4 (four) awards:
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize, which will be voted by the professional jury composed of: Anisa Ismaili – actress, Visar Krusha – playwright and Dardan Kryeziu – psychologist.
• Audience Award, which will be voted online by the public / Facebook virtual audience by ‘liking’ your favorite video on the page: Travelling Theater for Children and Youth, from 10.12.2021 until 12.12.2021, at 24:00
