“Our stories, our stage”

On June 13, 2026, the first event of “Art on the Train” took place, launching a series of cultural and artistic activities that will be held throughout June along the Prishtina–Peja railway line. The event transformed a train journey into a vibrant space for art, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
The artistic program began with the opening of an exhibition by Drilona Hamiti. Throughout the journey, participants enjoyed a musical performance by the group Frymëzë, theatrical excerpts performed by actors from the play Tartuffe, poetry readings by Albana Gashi, and a flute performance by Alba Basha.
By bringing together music, poetry, theatre, and visual arts, the event created a unique experience that made art more accessible to the public and turned the train into a space for reflection, connection, and cultural engagement.
Upon arriving in Peja, participants continued the experience with a guided cultural tour led by Nora Draga, offering an opportunity to explore the city’s rich history, cultural heritage, and key landmarks.
“Art on the Train” is organized by Artpolis as part of the project “Heritage Horizons: A Journey Across Generations”, implemented within the BOOST Balkans programme, funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement and coordinated by ALDA Balkans.
The initiative aims to create new spaces for cultural participation by connecting communities, cultural heritage, and artistic expression through shared experiences.
