On Tuesday night, December 5, at Dit’ e Nat’, Kaltrina Igrishta and Eliza Shala presented their special illustrated book “Edi, the Dardanian Labyrinth and the Gate of Tukana,” paying tribute to the life and work of the distinguished archaeologist Edi Shkuriu.
Combining Igrishta’s written narratives and Shala’s illustrations, the comic book “Edi, the Dardanian Labyrinth and the Gate of Tukana” takes readers on a journey through the dramatic yet inspiring life and dedication of Edi Shukri over the years.
Deliberately choosing to launch this book during the “16 Days of Activism,” Igrishta and Shala aim to celebrate the strength of women and their commitment to social emancipation.
The science fiction narrative in “Edi, the Dardanian Labyrinth and the Gate of Tukana” not only showcases the marvels of archaeological exploration but also tells a tale of women’s resilience and perseverance in overcoming challenges within the patriarchal system.
This project received support from the Artpolis Feminist Art Fund, backed by the Kosovo Foundation for Civil Society (KCSF) program ‘EJA Kosovo,’ co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Sweden, and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
