“Woyzeck” Welcomed with Enthusiasm in Vienna

Artpolis, together with the Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN), held an advocacy meeting with the Acting Secretary General of the University of Prishtina, Mr. Safet Thaçi, to discuss the safety and dignity of students within the university.
Harassment and sexual harassment cannot be treated as secondary issues. They directly affect students’ well-being, equality, and opportunities to study and develop in a safe environment.
During the meeting, we raised concerns about the current lack of an official responsible for handling sexual harassment cases — a gap that requires an urgent solution. At the same time, we emphasized that the existing Regulation against Harassment and Sexual Harassment must become an active part of university life, through awareness-raising, education, and accessible reporting mechanisms.
We proposed concrete steps to increase awareness, including informing students from the moment of enrollment and using student channels to disseminate information.
From the University’s side, it was confirmed that these issues are part of the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and that a call for applications for the relevant officer is expected to open after several key positions are filled.
Artpolis will continue to advocate for functional policies, reliable mechanisms, and institutions that take responsibility. Because the university should be a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and heard.
