The Forum Theater performance “Stigma – Claim Your Rights” on April 17, 2019, at 1:00 PM was presented to the audience in Vushtrri, hosted by the Youth Center “Hareja” in Vushtrri.
Students, art enthusiasts, activists, women, and men gathered to welcome the actors’ performance. In this historic town of Kosovo, where patriarchal norms dominate many aspects of life, the topic addressed—the stigmatization of survivors of sexual violence during the Kosovo War—was met with great enthusiasm by the audience. They contributed to raising public awareness and were highly interactive during the discussion following the performance.
The emotions evoked by the actors’ excellent performances made the show even more powerful. One of the key messages conveyed to the audience was that war survivors are not victims—they are heroines and will always remain so.
