On May 7, at the “Avdush Hasani” Theater in Podujeva, the Theater Club premiered the forum theatre performance “Reflection.”

The performance brought to the stage a raw and necessary portrayal of a reality too often overlooked: physical violence among teenagers in schools. Through emotionally charged scenes and conflicts between young characters, the performance raised a fundamental question: who carries the responsibility — the family, the school, or society? No single answer was enough. Each element revealed its own influence, exposing an uncomfortable truth: violence grows where communication, care, and support begin to break apart.

What made “Reflection” especially powerful was its forum theatre format, which opened space for direct dialogue between the characters and the audience. The performance transformed spectators into active participants, encouraging discussion, reflection, and collective responsibility.

For the young performers — Anea Fazliu, Anisa Selmani, Anisa Zeqiri, Ariona Salihu, Diona Muqolli, Dorina Jashari, Elita Rrahmani, Enesa Abdullahu, Erina Bajrami, Erisa Hasani, Florent Mehmeti, Lend Përvetica, Luiza Maloku, Ornela Hasani, and Rinesa Musa — mentored by Edlir Gashi and Qendresa Kajtazi, the process became far more than stage training. It became a space for personal growth, confidence, and self-expression.

One participant from the Podujeva Theater Club shared that the creative process had a positive impact on rebuilding self-confidence. Meanwhile, Luiza Maloku emphasized the importance of expressing oneself freely and without fear of judgment: “We were always free to speak and express ourselves. I never felt less important than anyone else.”

Ariona Salihu added that acting had been a childhood dream for her: “Acting has been one of the things I dreamed about since childhood.”

“Reflection” became a call to look one another in the eye and acknowledge that responsibility belongs to all of us.

With the support of Artpolis, the Municipality of Podujeva, the “Avdush Hasani” Theater, Frieda, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the young people of Podujeva opened a space where personal reflection meets collective responsibility.
