On 8th of December, 2023, the Theater Club in Klinë presented the forum theater performance “Tech-no” at the House of Culture “Jehona e Dukagjini.”
Through this performance, the young men and women involved in this theater club revealed the dependence of young people on technology, the negative impact of excessive phone use, often leading to privacy violations.
“Tech-no” served as a call from these young people to stop cyberbullying and the misuse of phones by students in schools. Presented in front of over 200 people, the show sparked debates among the audience, prompting questions about the characters and highlighting the myriad problems associated with technology.
The creative process in the theater club not only provided knowledge about theater but also boosted self-confidence and helped overcome the fear of facing the public for these young individuals.
Ergi Limanaj, a participant in the play, expressed, “Collaboration with Artpolis has been an extraordinary experience. It has helped us a lot in increasing our self-confidence and taught us about the world of theater and the process of creating a play.”
Brenda Gojani emphasized the negative effects of technology on young people, saying, “Cooperating with Artpolis has been a great pleasure, as it has helped me in many areas, such as increasing self-confidence. I believe and hope that through this show, we have endeavored to highlight the negative sides of technology.I believe that technology has a greater influence on us than we do on it. We have given it much more space than we need, and sharing videos or photos is not a good thing for our society.”
Aulona Smajli shared her happiness about being a part of this creative endeavor, stating, “Today, we successfully finished the show ‘Tech-no.’ It is really nice when you are involved in activities, especially acting. The Artpolis organization has helped us have more self-confidence, to be more open to the public. I thank them very much for enabling us to make this show.”
In the production, Aurela Gashi, Aulona Smajli, Alena Gashi, Blediona Manaj, Brenda Gojani, Ergi Limanaj, Eronita Gashi, and Farie Gashi played pivotal roles. These young men and women were mentored and prepared by the Artpolis Ensemble: Shpëtim Selmani, Qendresa Kajtazi, and Labinot Raci.
The activity was organized by Artpolis with the support of Frieda, the Joseph Handleman “I Believe in You” Foundation, MKRS, and the Municipality of Klina.
