On April 17, 2026, young people from different parts of Kosovo took part in a cultural visit to Prizren to closely discover the rich historical and cultural heritage that characterizes this city.

The visit began at the Mother Teresa Museum, where participants learned about the life and work of one of the most important Albanian humanitarian figures. The journey then continued to the Archaeological Museum of Prizren, where the ancient history of the region was revealed through various artifacts.

The visit proceeded to the Gazi Mehmet Pasha Hammam, one of the most significant monuments from the Ottoman period, reflecting the urban development and social life of that time. The experience culminated at the Prizren League Museum, where young participants reflected on one of the most important historical events for Albanians and its role in shaping national identity.

Through this experience, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the country’s history, culture, and heritage, seeing it not only as the past, but as a living legacy that continues to inspire younger generations.

For Mehmet Salihu, it was a new experience: “I really liked the Mother Teresa Museum—it left a strong impression on me because I didn’t know that such a museum existed in Kosovo.”

For Nora Draga, visits like these hold special importance.

“For us as young people, it is very important to understand the history of our country and protect our cultural heritage because it tells us where we come from, who we are, and what we will do in the future,” said Draga.

In addition to the visit, the young participants engaged in creating digital content to promote this cultural heritage online, helping showcase the rich city of Prizren.

It was a day filled with history, reflection, and new experiences—demonstrating that cultural heritage remains a powerful source of inspiration for young people and a bridge connecting the past with the future.

This activity was organized as part of Artpolis’ project “Heritage Horizons: A Journey Across Generations”, within the BOOST Balkans program, funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement and coordinated by ALDA Balkans.
